Raspberry Pico 2 – RP2350A Custom PCB Design for Water Pressostat

I’ve designed yet another custom PCB with RP2350A, which is the core IC of Raspberry Pico 2. This board was special because it’s having high-voltage from main line on a single board. I’ve designed several products with AC or higher voltage rails on a single PCB, however, those were mostly having STM32 or other types of microcontrollers. This board design was my first try to use RP2350A on such high-voltage PCB for the first time.

Key Features

  • RP2350A
  • SPI Touch LCD interface, compatible with most ILI9341 or ST7789 display panels
  • Analog frontend for pressure sensor
  • 2 x Mechanical relays for motor and solenoid control
  • 12W AC-DC module for 85V ~ 265V AC input
  • Texas Instruments TPSM33625 for 5V step-down converter
  • Texas Instruments TPS82084 for 3.3V step-down converter

PCB Design

The PCB design didn’t difficult too much. I took care of high voltage section to have fair clearance between traces and coppers.

PCBA Prototyping

While designing the board, I used all components that are well available on JLCPCB / LCSC. Hence, my client was able to get this board assembled without much trouble.

The board passed all functional tests well.
